January:
January Den Meeting:
Our first den meeting of the New Year will be January 5th at Laurie's house from
6:30-7:30. We will be exploring our past with Requirement #8: The Past is Exciting!
Please wear your Class A Uniforms to this meeting for picture purposes! Don't forget
your homework: Requirement #18: Jot It Down (we will be doing #18g in the meeting, so
don't worry about that one.) Please bring your Bear Handbooks as we will be doing a final
check to make sure everyone is on track to earn rank at the February Blue & Gold
Ceremony.
Ice Skating Party!
Our pack will be having a skating party on Wednesday, January 21st, from 6:45-8:45 at
Valencia Ice Station as a way of saying "Thanks!" to our scouts for all of their had work
during the popcorn sales. We really had a banner year. The pack will be covering the
cost of scouts. Parents and siblings are welcome to join in the fun. Cost is $11/person,
which includes skate rentals, ice time, and cookies and cocoa midway through the
evening. (If you want to skip the cookie and cocoa, the cost is $8.) Please RSVP to your
den leader if you are attending (and whether you will want the snack) no later than
January 14th so we can get a head count. The committee is considering this as a
replacement for our monthy pack meeting. Stay tuned for a final decision.
January Go-See-It:
We will be touring a local Police Station to complete Requirement #7. Details TBA.
Pack Hike at Towsley Canyon:
Our pack will be taking part in a hike in Towsley Canyon on January 25th. For more
information and directions, please see our Hiking Page. Hope to see you there!

Our meeting will be February 2nd, from 6:30-7:30 at Kelsey's house. We are done with
our Bear Rank requirements, so the sky's the limit! Come join the fun and we will get
ready for the Blue & Gold ceremony at the end of the month.
February Go-See-It:
We have tentatively scheduled a visit to the Ronald Reagan Library for Sunday, February
8th at 10 am. We will be completing Requirement #3: What Makes America Special.
Since our boys have made rank, this will be credited toward their arrowpoints.
Blue & Gold:
Remember that our Annual Blue & Gold ceremony will be on Saturday, February 28th,
from 3-6 pm, in the Mountainview MPR. Food will be supplied by Outback! Come and join
the fun and the food and the ceremony. Your den leader will have more information on
this event in January.
