What exactly is a "Bobcat"?
Regardless of the age at which your
scout starts Cub Scouting, the first
rank he will need to earn will be his
Bobcat Rank.
There are 8 basic requirements for
Bobcat, all having to do with the
foundation of Cub Scouts. For
instance, your scout will need to learn
the Cub Scout Promise, the Cub
Scout Law and Motto (Do Your Best!),
and also the official Cub Scout
handshake.
These are not difficult for even the
youngest of scouts to learn, but they
are an important part of learning what
it means to be a Cub Scout.
