Committee Meeting Minutes

I. Old Business
A.Dues owed: Choy (Wolf) and Conte, Gandara, Leon (Bear) -- Kelsey will check
II. Financials: Can not post financial information on the website. Contact Kristine Mildon for info.
A. State of the Pack (financial):
III. Committee Chairs
A. Website: Please keep sending den information/pictures to Laurie for posting. Calendars are two
months in advance so May information can go on the website now.
IV. April Pack Meeting: Saturday, April 26th, Mountainview MPR, 1-3 pm.
A. Pinewood Derby: Lisa -- Set up 11:00 am. Race time 1-3 pm. Tear down afterward.
1. Track: Rey Rodriguez & Paul Hemstreet to spearhead track set up.
2. Scoring: Laurie Rodriguez to set up racing schedule and scoring sheets. Stephanine
Benson assists.
3. Tables: Cars should be set up on towels to prevent rolling (check with Lisa to see who is
bringing towels. Mark off areas for different ranks and for those in finals/run-offs
4. Sound system: Annette Worth
6. Announcer: Kelsey Boxall
7. Car Coordinator: Mike Mildon to release the cars for the race
8. Finish Line: Paul Friedman to announce winners at finish line with Logan or Everett to help.
9. Crafts:
a. Kerry Ganim to run car tie pin craft
b. Laurie Rodriguez has checkered flag craft ready to go (pretty much self run). Who
will bring markers?
10. Ice: Iceman Paul Friedman
11. Water: Kelsey Boxall
12. Snack: Lisa Howard is bringing popcorn & pretzels
13. Awards:
a. Finals and special awards: Annette Worthen
b. Rank awards: Kelsey Boxall (1st - 3rd)
a. Wolves will open with Flag Ceremony
b. Announcements: (May pack meeting/recruitment (bring friends!), Advancement
notices, $50 due as dues at May pack meeting, Memorial Day Flag Placement, JPL
open house)
c. Races run by rank, including tie-breakers, then finals to determine overall.
d. Crafts to run concurrently.
e. Snacks available throughout.
f. Awards given at end of races. Cars will not be returned until after the races are
completed and awards handed out.
g. Colors taken down and out by wolves.
h. Dismissed with mandatory clean-up.
V. May Pack meeting
A. Pirate Meeting -- RECRUITMENT MEETING! May 27th, 7-8 pm, Mountainview MPR
a. Making pirate paper hats - Laura Arrowsmith to bring unprinted newsprint and will
run craft.
b. Water balloons - Kerry Ganim, to be run in blocked off area of parking lot, Kerry to
provide balloons. Rake will be used to clean up.
c. Walk the plank - supplies provided by Annette Worthen, to be run by Annette/Kristine
(DUES??)
d. Pirate Flag - Kelsey Boxall & Laurie Rodriguez: Black construction paper, template
for skull and crossbones from Annette.
2. Kristine Stationed to receive pack dues?
3. Official timer for rotating stations (Kevin?)
4. Who's responsible for talking to interested new scouts and taking registration
information (Beth?)
5. Schedule:
a. Tigers do opening
b. Paul Friedman to run meeting as Assistant Cubmaster
c. Announcements: (Recruitment, Advancement, Pack dues due, summertime
activities?)
d. Parents please line up to pay pack dues to Mrs. Milden at back of room.
e. Kids broken into 4 groups of mixed ages, sent to stations on timer.
f. Regroup and remind of clean-up requirement
g. Tigers strike colors
h. Dismissed to clean-up
VI. Advancment
A. Advancement: Annette has plans going.
1. Kerry Ganim has arranged catering (yeah!!!); head count one week before; delivery by 5:00
pm, smores if fire allowed TBA.
2. Fire Safety: Kevin & Todd
3. Hike: Randy Burke & Mike Mildon have offered to take this on. Will need to record
participants and hike length (approximate) for hiking club records.
4. Other activities: tie-dye, relay, slides, skits in a bag (each den to provide a bag with props,
etc, of 6-10 items each).
VII. Recruitment:
A. Beth has requested fliers and is workign with Wes Ptterson, our new District Rep. Wes has ofered
to speak at a school assembly. Beth is going to talk to Mrs. Hamlin.
VIII. New Business
A. Committee Chair: No volunteers. Cubmaster suggests rotating who runs the meetings. Agreed to
and this meeting run by Annette Worthen.
B. Kerry Ganim to begin new role in acquiring donations for food et al for pack activities. Suggested
savings of pack funds to be used to offset pack activities. General agreement.
C. Volunteerism: Suggestions re specific volunteer time to be signed up for at recruitment/ pack
meetings be considered at next committee meeting. Suggestion made to make it more specific rather
than signing up for a committee.
IX. Activities Update
X. Awards: Deadline for Advancement award requests is the 15th of May to Kelsey.
XI. Dates to remember
A. April 24th: Pinewood Derby weigh-in at Lisa's house from 6:30-8:30.
B. April 26th: Pinewood Derby. Set up at 11 am at Mountainview MPR, race from 1-3 pm.
C. Next Committee meetings currently undetermined yet. We are trying to schedule both the
monthly committee meeting and the annual committee meeting.
D. May 27th: Pirates/ Recruitement 7 pm at Mountainview MPR
