Pack 527
Saugus, CA
Project Popcorn
Regulations

  • Scouts must be in Class A uniforms.
  • Please have two scouts and two adults while boothing.
  • Please only sell at one entrance.  Please do not block the doorway.

If you are the first group to booth at a site for that day

  • Please pick up the equipment and the popcorn and take it to the storefront. Felicia Smith will
    contact you with her location.
  • When you arrive at the site, go into the store and locate a manager.  Introduce and identify
yourself as pack members of Cub Scout Pack 527 and let them know that the contact
person/manager from the store gave us permission to sell popcorn for our fundraiser.
  • Thank the manager on duty for allowing our pack to booth there (many places won’t).

Suggestions

  • Smile!
  • As representatives of our pack, our scouts should always be polite and respectful.
  • Make sure potential customers are aware that you are from a Cub Scout Pack and that you
are raising money for our pack’s activities.
  • Let the scouts do as much as possible… it is harder for people to say no to the kids.
  • You may accept cash donations to the pack, just write down the amount in the donations
    column.
  • If you make a sale, make sure to thank them for supporting Cub Scouts.
  • If they say “no” be polite and thank them anyway.  They might come back later to buy
    something.

Closing up

  • Complete your Tally Sheet and update totals with items sold and money collected.
  • Verify your money on the sheet corresponds to the money collected.
  • Make sure your location is clear of trash and all boxes.
  • If you are the last one to booth for that day, take the remaining popcorn, supplies and money
    back to Felicia Smith's house.

Selling Options:
Show and Sell (Boothing)
  • If you are boothing with another scout, you will get 1/2 of the product sales credit towards your
Rewards level for prizes.  Cash donations do not count towards your product sales total, but
our pack keeps 100% of them.  The more we earn the more we can give back to you!

Show and Deliver:
  • This is when you get Trails End products and take them with you.  You may use this method
going door to door, at a sporting event, or other venue.  Scouts can ask, get payment and
then give product to the customer in the same transaction.  This can only be done at the
beginning of the sales event based on product availability.

Online Sales:
  • Your Scout can sign in with an adults email address and send email to out of town loved ones.
Go to scouts.trails-end.com to get started.  The Trails End System will ask you to enter
customers emails, in using their automated system.  If you prefer not to enter email using their
automated system, you may have people go to Trails-End.com and in the section on the right
above the product pictures, it says:  You are supporting no one.  Change.  Select Change.
Then select: Find a Scout to Support.  Enter Scouts First Name and Last Initial and Zip Code.
Your scout should appear because I have entered our scouts into the Trails End System.

Take Order Forms:
  • Ask friends, family, neighbors, and loved ones to help fill up your Take Order Form.  List the
name, order and amount needed for every order.  It is recommended that all money be
collected when the product is ordered.  You will deliver the products to these customers at a
    later date.
